Not Bad, Not Good

I’m not bad, I’m not good,
even though I crucified Jesus,
I am a human being.

En ole paha, en ole hyvä,
vaikka ristiinnaulitsin Jeesuksen;
olen ihminen.

jestem człowiekiem.

About Yelling Rosa

I am retired. In my spare time I read, write, play the guitar and hike. I have published three verse books in Finnish and recorded my songs. You can listen to them on YouTube. I have translated some of my poems on Yelling Rosa's Weblog. I also like to watch movies. Olen kiinnostunut lukemisesta, kirjoittamisesta, kitaransoitosta ja luonnossa vaeltamisesta. Olen julkaissut kolme runokirjaa ja laulujani on äänitteillä. Voit lukea runojani Yelling Rosan kotisivuilta ja kuunnella laulujani YouTubessa. Olen elokuvafriikki.

Us human beings are like that, made up of good and bad, and making right and wrong decisions

I recall words of old: that which I should do I do not; and that which I should not do I do. None is perfect although we may try hard. Good insight.

No soy malo, no soy bueno,
        aunque crucifiqué a Jesús,
        Soy un ser humano.

  7. The send-comment part of your My Affection seems to be missing. My comment, beautiful combination of words and music–what poetry started out as.

Who crucified, and who? Unanswerable questions unless you’re referring to those who made war. Two-thousand years worth.

Thank you for liking my posts!

  8. Somehow this verse reminded me of a Broadway show I saw many years ago, entitled “Jesus Christ Superstar.” From my old Christian catechism I recall something to the effect that “God knows all things– past, present and future.” In the musical play Judas mentions how Christ already knew that he would betray Him– as if this was foretold and could not be changed– thus leaving me somewhat forgiving in his actions. Of course, it was just a show. Nevertheless… Nice post.

Thank you for commenting. It’s difficult to know what’s going on with us and even Jesus said on the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do”, Luke 23:34.
      All the best to you

    Gros bisous
