Death

Death

Does not come and

Knock on the door of your heart.

It has always lived within you

But one day you have to continue

Without it.

It is your inner voice,

Which is in vain misjudged

And accused of being the end of life.

The truth, however,

Is that if it put an end to life

It would kill himself.

A couple of days ago happened something that strongly reminds me how we don’t live forever. I had something else in my mind but this one came out from the deepest of my mind. It gave me much more strenght than the original way of approaching to the subject. If anything happens after death it is like this life: we will feel it then like we feel this now. Hugs.

  8. Such a provocative poem. You are so right that death is something within you as we all have this kernel of extreme self-destructiveness. With my alcohol cocaine addiction and bulimia I very nearly did kill myself and I really thought I wanted to die so the more risks I took the better. I had to be forced to abstain from the cocaine to realise that I was depressed but I didn’t want to die. Now I think the best part of my life is ahead.

      Hi,
      Thank you for commenting.
We deal with the knowledge of death in personal way and our attitude towards it changes many times during the time. At its best the knowledge of mortality is the constructive strength. When we have this reality in mind we realize it is wise to build on further than one human’s life time. This time which underlines the individualism has forgotten how the love for neighbors and for those yet not burned keeps us in balance and our feet on the ground. I hope that my poem is something about this.
I wish you all the best🙂
