Not a Member of the Human Race

Mentally
sick human being
is not a loser
but the person
who points him out
with the forefinger,
and even worse,
that person is not
a member of
the human
race.

Afterwords:

I uploaded these words here because I have seen so much intolerance towards all sorts of human shortage at work and in my private life. Lately, I have noticed that attitudes towards the sick and handicapped people are getting even more disapproving. Hard liners are champions to invent explanations why this is necessary. One of the arguments is that in the nature herds don’t take care of losers but just left them on their own. It may sound as a good argument but those people who use that kind of weapons are just saying that human beings are on the same level as animals. This kind of thinking can’t be a sign of the humanity because it whips away thousands and thousands years of the civilization away. It looks down all the religions we have respected during the years. It also underestimates our brains. Other living species don’t take care of their nonstandard individuals because they don’t know how. They don’t have hospitals and surgeons.

And more of that I uploaded these words here because I have seen so much suffering around me and in me. Incapable people feel themselves guilty because they can’t fill up the normal standards of the society. This is exactly what those hard liners want because it gives them more influence over where the world is going to. And think about what will happen after the incapable people have ignored. Inhumanity doesn’t stop there where it is happy at the moment. Perhaps the color of the skin will be next on the line.

I wish all the best to all and don’t let hard liners make us shame ourselves whatsoever. It is their duty to find something where also human emotions and intelligence are involved. I hope that they hear something beyond their own ideas as well. In the end the inhumanity destroy itself because of its warlike nature. It will collapse when there is anything to conquer anymore.

I am happy to hear that you are on the side of the humanity. I try also to do my best, but I am not so strong as one supposed to be in this matter. I hope that the real strong persons will step on the stage.

The true measure of our greatness is not found in loving the lovely, but in loving the one who is flawed and far from perfect.

Now when the economy is getting worse all over the world we need those great women and men, who are able to stand for the smallest and weakest of us. They are on the target when governments are cutting the social benefits.
      Go in safe.

Yes we need to empathise and try to understand… to comfort and be kind to them! Indeed they are human beings who are different and need our compassion and love. This is so timely and you have touched on something very moving and true!

I feel that I am in the same boat with those who are taking as nonstandard people but the reason for this post is in the attitudes that are getting harder towards everything which is not in the same normal line.

I really hope that there would be more people, stronger than me, who dare to speak for the humanity. At the moment world is in the point where it can’t do the same mistakes than before. The global warming is one example. Unfortunately nothing speaks for the reasonable solutions but everything seems to be targeted to it where the guilty ones are.

      Take care and feel fine

The biggest thing mankind lacks is what it brags of most- that raises us above the level of animal, humanity. Not only are we happy to commit ourselves to wars in order to kill others of our species, which no animal would do,but we’re quite happy to kill civilians, women and children too.
Not only do we declare ourselves non-prejudiced against skin colour and religion than we act against those which don’t share our own. Now some Governments lead the way in acting against the most vulnerable in our society, the sick and disabled by reducing benefits that allow them to function within society.
We need to understand the meaning of humanity before we start claiming to practice it.We need to stop the killing and start preserving a future for our young in which everyone has a place. Without that we are just Nazis looking for the creation of a master race but lacking in any compassion.

      Hey David,
Thank you for the profound comment. Only God knows if we are capable of rising up to the next level of existing. If we can’t do it, it will be the end of the human race. Finnish Professor Markku Kulmala says that we have 40 years left to save this globe.
      Take care

I agree with you. There is too much selfishness when we need the caring and understanding more than ever in the history of the human race.
All the best to you 🙂

This is so much troubling my heart. You expressed it so well. We really must stand together towards this inhumanity before it gets to far (It has already gone too far)

      Dear Lotta,
We are living on the edge of the sword as you said. In the future there is no room for more mistakes. We are in the situation where even the most hardened egoist should understand that he must start dealing. If he doesn’t understand it he will run into the situation where all his selfishness and property won’t help him/her. The desolated globe doesn’t need money or share holders. It doesn’t need any of us. It is a place which is born by our stupidity.
Take care and try to smile anyway

  10. All of us are different, so what? WHO has the rights to judge who is normal and who is abnormal who meets the standards who not? As soon as person is not dangerous for others we have to accept as normal. All of us have to empathize with sick, incapable, and disable people, help them, and treat them the way we would like to be treated ourselves.

Well said. And while we ponder these thoughts, we continue until equality is reached, all races, all creeds, all nations. We. Are. Human. Together. Go forth and be awesome.

  13. When my wife worked for ARC, I occasionally volunteered during outings for the developmentally disabled. I was saddened to notice the freedoms that these folks were deprived of that I took for granted for myself. Later in life I spent the last year of my mom’s life visiting her in a nursing home. She shared the affliction of dementia with many other residents there. Again I was saddened to see how many of these folks were ignored of visits by their immediate families. If only “healthy” people could realize how they might be treated if they were born or afflicted as such. Many thanx for this post.

Thank you very much for supporting words. It means much to me because sometimes I wonder why I am bothering to write about the equality among people and how it can’t be a reward from the great achievements and perfect health. In spite of your words I have been thinking of concentrating more on my own poetry than this blog in the future. This blog doesn’t die but will get less of my attention.

I feel that the destiny of this globe should be a young people’s concern because the global problems are going to be fatal during their lifetime. It is so serious issue that they should wake up even they don’t care about anyone else but themselves. The desolated and empty earth is a place where nobody can be anything.

Perhaps some responsible and strong youngsters will get lost in my Home site forest and find something for their road map. My decision is not the selfish but rational one. Now when I am writing on Internet I am taking as a naïve do-gooder who imposes own opinions on other people. My Home Site is my own place and there it is natural that I am exactly who I am. If someone doesn’t like it, he or she doesn’t have to come again.

All the best to you and your love ones.

Could not agree more ~ it is a privilege to live and that covers us all. Often the best part of living is connecting with others and finding not just the power of friendship but of giving (and thus receiving). To offer a helping hand (or accept a helping hand) is one of the greatest feelings life can offer. Thanks for this post Yelling Rosa…
