Slipped Words

Slipped Words

Strange are the words
That slip away from
Under the millstones
Of our thoughts.
They are logical
But obscurely
Emotional
Like the fog
In the night
Under the
Light of
Lantern.

Farewell Note

It just is so
That I was born
In the wrong world.
Why should I try
To convert people?
I convert myself
To go away.
I’m sure I will hear
Behind my back
The sound of work
And glorious fun.
They are happy
And so am I
Now heading for
The World of mine.

About Yelling Rosa

I am retired. In my spare time I read, write, play the guitar and hike. I have published three verse books in Finnish and recorded my songs. You can listen to them on YouTube. I have translated some of my poems on Yelling Rosa's Weblog. I also like to watch movies. Olen kiinnostunut lukemisesta, kirjoittamisesta, kitaransoitosta ja luonnossa vaeltamisesta. Olen julkaissut kolme runokirjaa ja laulujani on äänitteillä. Voit lukea runojani Yelling Rosan kotisivuilta ja kuunnella laulujani YouTubessa. Olen elokuvafriikki.

Ah, the understand that you were born in the wrong world…and you ask yourself that perfect question which most people born in the wrong world never would think to ask. And this is why you do what you do, and people want to listen. Cheers to perfect prose.

Thank you for the comment. This is a difficult and sensitive situation which came to me because of being without the sleep lately. It eats a man and drops the self-confident level down. I suppose that watching the computer screen has made it worse. In the future I am forced to cut down the time at the computer. It will not be easy, like saying goodbye to you guys. When I thought of these the poem popped up. Of course, the poem is always a dramatized epitome. Life goes on elsewhere. I don’t say goodbye to this blog but in the future I concentrate on poems. It will reduce the amount of visitors but it is not the end of the world. We have to do what we can do. Take care 🚿💡

Being without sleep, as you described…eats away at the spirit, pure misery. Will be hard to cut down the time on the computer, as you have so much creativity there but also I really like/admire the you saying “Life goes on elsewhere.” That is does. Take care and best days are ahead!

Slipped Words…there are things that we all think but that are never verbalized. I liked this poem because you were able to unite us all in a moment of, “Oh, yes, I’ve done or thought that.” Our minds are like millwheels, around and around they go and then almost as if on they are the product of someone else, something slips out. Fabulous.

Just found your weblog after you stopped by mine, and I’m so glad I did. Although poetry is not my forte I enjoy your poems for the wonderful imagery they evoke. That is difficult to do with so few words (I write novels because I need more space to complete my canvas), so bravo! 🙂
